Cities & Towns
Arapahoe County is home to 13 cities and towns: Aurora, Bennett, Bow Mar, Centennial, Cherry Hills Village, Columbine Valley, Deer Trail, Englewood, Foxfield, Glendale, Greenwood Village, Littleton and Sheridan.
School Districts & Higher Education
The County is home to nine school districts: Aurora, Bennett, Byers, Cherry Creek, Deer Trail, Englewood, Littleton, Sheridan and Strasburg. The Arapahoe Community College and Community College of Aurora also have campuses in the County.
Fire Districts
Fire protection services are provided by municipal fire departments or one of the following special districts: Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue, Byers Fire Protection District, Deer Trail Rural Fire Protection District, Sable Altura Fire Rescue, South Metro Fire Rescue, and Strasburg Fire Protection District.
Libraries
The Arapahoe Library District was established in 1966 to provide public library service to all residents of Arapahoe County, except those living in the cities of Littleton, Englewood and Aurora. Residents of these cities are served by libraries established prior to 1966 that are funded and maintained by their respective city governments. All Arapahoe County residents are free to use any of the libraries in the County.
Museums & Attractions
One of the benefits of living in Arapahoe County is the wide variety of available cultural, entertainment and outdoor activities. As a member of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, Arapahoe County helps fund a variety of cultural organizations each year. The County also is the home to the Denver Broncos Football Team, which is headquartered just south of the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office.

Parks, Trails & Open Space
Arapahoe County owns and manages 5,300 acres, eight parks, four trailheads, five open spaces, 14 miles of trails, the historic 17 Mile House Farm Park and the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds and Event Center. The County’s Open Spaces program is funded through a dedicated quarter-cent sales and use tax, of which 50% is shared back to cities and towns. The County also is home to the High Line Canal and South Platte regional trails. In addition to municipal programs, the county is served by the South Suburban Parks & Recreation District and the Arapahoe Parks & Recreation District.
Water & Flood Districts
Depending on where you live, water and wastewater services are provided by a municipality or special district, such as the Arapahoe County Water & Wastewater Authority, City of Aurora, Denver Water, East Cherry Creek Valley, East Valley Metro District, Platte Canyon Water & Sanitation District, Southeast Metro Stormwater Authority, Southgate Water & Sanitation District, South Platte Renew, and the Southwest Metro Water & Sanitation District. The Mile High Flood District addresses stormwater and watersheds across the County and region.
